Angelika Nollert
Dr. Angelika Nollert first learned banking, then studied art history,
archaeology, and German language and literature at the University of
Würzburg and the University of Münster. After working at "Skulptur.Projekte"
in Münster 1997, she served as curator at Portikus in Frankfurt am Main from
1997 to 2000. She took over the project management of Documenta11 in Kassel
in 2001. Among her other activities, she led seminars about the theory and
history of art at Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main and for the "Education"
program of Documenta11 in Kassel.
She has been project director for the visual arts at Siemens Arts Program in
Munich since October 2002. Furthermore, Dr. Nollert is a member of the
advisory council of the Conservatory of Visual Arts in Braunschweig and is
chairperson of the jury for "Kunst am Bau" (art at building sites) in
Munich.
She mounted the following exhibitions (selection): "Performative
Installation", a five-part series of exhibitions in Innsbruck (2003),
Cologne (2003/2004), Siegen (2003/2004), Vienna (2004), and Leipzig (2004);
"Collective Creativity" (Kassel 2005); "Academy. Teaching Art, Learning Art"
(Hamburg 2005).
In addition to editing and writing catalogues to accompany exhibitions, she
is also the author of numerous essays and contributions to catalogues about
contemporary art; among others "The X Factor. Contemporary Art in Munich"
(2005), which was initiated by Siemens Arts Program.
